The Draft Economic Development Strategy 2022-2027 is a 5-year strategy identifying key objectives and actions to support the districts economic prosperity.

The draft Strategy has been developed utilising the Economic Profile Report and Economic Forecasts Analysis commissioned by Council in 2021 and consulting with peak industry bodies, business associations, strategic partners and elected members. It has also been informed by input from key stakeholders within each industry sector:

  1. Agriculture
  2. Visitor Economy
  3. Small Business and Property
  4. Creative and Digital Industries
  5. Education

The strategy builds on the objectives of Council's previous Economic Development Strategy. There are 4 key objectives of the draft Strategy which are:

  1. Increase tourism visitation and spend
  2. Create and attract high value jobs
  3. Increase innovation
  4. Build city centre and village vibrancy

To achieve the objectives, the draft Strategy identifies actions which are built around strategic projects and partnerships within the 5 key industries.
