Consultation has concluded

The Mount Barker District Council is developing a Children and Youth Action Plan. The development of this Plan is an action in the Community Development Lead Strategy 2021-2026. The Plan aims to:

  • Support the wellbeing and resilience of the next generation in our community,
  • Address issues that face our children and young people,
  • Engage with local community organisations/groups to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for the younger generation to connect and thrive.

To help develop the Plan, Council is seeking feedback from the community about the issues faced by children and youth in our district and suggestions they may have. Council has engaged Greenwood Institute and Youth Affairs Council of South Australia to conduct two surveys; Children (0 to 11 years) and Youth (12 to 25 years).

Children Survey (0 to 11 years)

If you are a parent with children or work in the early childhood/education/childcare/health sector, we want to hear your ideas and feedback on how the Mount Barker District Council can create a more supportive environment for the children in our district.

Youth Survey (12 to 25 years)

We want to know what is important to you, what you think about the local community, what you like to do, and what you’d like to change or make better. Sharing your expertise and ideas will help the Council to support you and other young people to thrive and have fun in our community.
