why was the Old Princes Highway still closed at Dawesley last night at 5:10pm when signs displayed said it would re-open at 4:45pm??? Even more disturbing why was there no detour signs to assist people travelling from Brukunga to Dawsley for alternate routes. Luckily I found Mcintrye Rd (?) after having to turn back from Dawesley because of the road closure. 2 issues I see as an event professional: 1. the event organiser did not build in contingency plans for time over run (basic Event Management 101!!!) or 2. traffic management people took down some signs before road closures were affected - at 5:10 there was no sign of the closures being removed any time soon Is it any wonder people get rightfully annoyed and oppose such events when the organisers pay little respect to the local residents!? Simply NOT GOOD ENOUGH!

Hi, thank you for your message and apologies for the inconvenience the traffic management of this event has caused you. Council Officers have contacted the event organisers for more detail. The event organisers are following up with their traffic management team.
